Sharlot Hall/Smithsonian Free Museum Day
8:00am - 5:00pm

Sharlot Hall Museum Partners with Smithsonian Magazine for Free Museum Day 2008

Sharlot Hall Museum will participate in the fourth annual Museum Day on Saturday, Sept. 27 by offering free admission to Smithsonian magazine readers and Smithsonian.com visitors. Museum Day, presented by Smithsonian magazine, involves museums and cultural institutions nationwide in a celebration of culture, learning and the dissemination of knowledge.
To gain free admission, visitors must present Smithsonian magazine’s Museum Day Admission Card at the Sharlot Hall Museum entry. The Museum Day Admission Card is available in the September issue of Smithsonian magazine, and a downloadable version is available to the general public on the museum website at http://microsite.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/.
Ă˘â‚¬Ĺ“Museum Day is a great opportunity for area residents and visitors to explore our historic buildings, engaging exhibits and beautiful gardens as we celebrate our 80th anniversary,” said John Langellier, Executive Director of Sharlot Hall Museum. “Come by and discover what makes the Museum such an integral part of Prescott’s appeal.”
Some 100,000 people attended Museum Day across the nation last year. All 50 states plus Puerto Rico were represented by 651 participating museums. Smithsonian’s Museum Day reflects the spirit of the magazine, and emulates the free-admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington, D.C.-based properties.
The Sharlot Hall Museum is located at 415 W. Gurley St. in downtown Prescott. More information about Sharlot Hall Museum events is available online at www.sharlot.org.
