Two women and their music, dancing on the edge of revolution, rock folk: Emma's Revolution is the real story. The sound of passion in "deftly-turned phrases," award-winning songs imbued with hope, warmth and the "power and drive" to turn tears into laughter, cynicism into action. From the strings of their guitars to communities hungry for truth, from intimate concerts to mass demonstrations, Pat Humphries & Sandy O's dynamic harmonies are multiplied exponentially in ways that reflect Emma Goldman's vision of "everybody's right to beautiful radiant things."
Their music has been featured on NPR's "All Things Considered" and Pacifica's "Democracy Now!" Called the anthems of the movement, their songs, "Peace, Salaam, Shalom" and "Keep on Moving Forward" are sung at vigils, demonstrations, and gatherings around the world and, since its feature on NPR, "Swimming to the Other Side" is inspiring hope everywhere. Their debut CD, "one x 1,000,000 = change," features "If I Give Your Name", Grand Prize Winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and includes songs written for organizations such as the Refugee and Immigrant Women's Network, School of the Americas Watch, Rachel Carson Center, Chesapeake Climate Action Network, and CodePINK Women for Peace.
