Epic Rides, needs roughly 10 - 15 groups of two or more located throughout the route in order to assist with aid stations, assure people make the correct turns to stay on course and ride safely through challenging sections. All volunteers should be prepared to spend the day outdoors in the Prescott National Forest. They will need to wear appropriate clothing, bring ample food and water for themselves and sunscreen (although most people will be within the shaded parts of the forest accessed near either Thumb Butte or Copper Basin Rd. Volunteers will navigate their way to a specified location on the route (Epic Rides will assist with maps and directions). Then, throughout the duration of their day they will be entertained by mountain bikers of all abilities passing by. Some will zip by in a hurry to finish while others will be glad to stop and share "war" stories from the days ride. Most will verbally thank volunteers as they pass by. Epic Rides is always complimented on how polite and respectful our participants are so I can assure any one willing to volunteer will be exposed to a very positive experience on all levels. We will have a volunteer meeting the evening of Friday, May 18th in downtown Prescott in order to allocate responsibilities and set everyone in motion. Epic Rides is extremely excited about this years event as we expect over 600 participants will descend on Prescott to experience the prime outdoor opportunities in your community.
