Pitching Instruction

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks & Recreation is offering Pitching Instruction. Boy and girl pitchers, ages 8-18 have the opportunity to receive professional instruction from Jack Wilson, a former major league pitcher. with Sessions are scheduled on a monthly basis. Cost is only $60 for four classes and will meet June 3, 10, 17 and 24. Times will be assigned by the instructor. Mud Puppies, Summer Studio

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to offer Mud Puppies, a special beginning level pottery program for kids ages 6 to 12. Elementary students will learn the techniques of clay art including wheel throwing, sculpture, preparation, glazing and kiln firing. All supplies included! Class will meet on Fridays, June 1, 8, 15, 22 and the cost is only $45 for three classes! Space is limited. Classes will take place at the Civic Center in Community Room 331 from 4:30pm to 6:00pm. Yoga

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to present YOGA! The next session will take place June 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20 and 25. Class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Bradshaw Mountain High School east campus from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Cost is $25 for five class meetings scheduled in March! Join nonpareil Instructor Becky Lind in East’s “band room” for the program you always wanted to connect with! The high school is located at 6411 N. Robert Road. Little Lizards Preschool Parent/Child Workshop

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation Department is offering a “Little Lizards” pottery class. Parent and child (ages four and five) can experience getting their hands in the clay while collaborating on family, creative visualization projects! This pottery class, instructed by Danielle Wanner, will include all the basics at a cost of $60 for the four classes scheduled for this session! All supplies included! Class meets on Mondays June 4, 11, 18, 25 from 2:30pm to 4:00pm in Room 331 in the Civic Center.

Chess

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks & Recreation Department is offering a FREE chess program at the Prescott Valley Civic Center in Community Room 331 on Monday evenings from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Players of any age or level of experience are welcome! Beginners or tournament players will have a great time learning new strategies or passing on their knowledge to others. Rally in the Valley

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation Department is offering a FREE instructional Tennis Clinic hosted by the Town and the USTA (United States Tennis Association). Swing into summer on the Bradshaw Mountain High School tennis courts on Saturday, June 2 from 9:00am to Noon. This event is for boys and girls ages 7-14. Registration begins at 8:30am. Bring your own racquet or if you don’t have a racquet, equipment will be provided! Lots of prizes, fun and quality instruction! Local high school tennis coaches will be coaching at this event along with USTA instructors. Guitar

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks & Recreation Department is offering guitar lessons at the Prescott Valley Civic Center. The lessons are designed to accommodate skill levels for any and all ages! Students will be able to pursue a variety of styles on the guitar with instructor Pete West, whose musical experience includes performing with his band at venues such as the Roxy and Whiskey a Go Go in Hollywood. Mr. West attended CSU at Fullerton, majored in music, studied studio engineering and has since released his own CD. Take advantage of the opportunity for professional instruction! A set of four (4) lessons are scheduled for Monday evenings in Room 406 between 5:30pm and 8:00pm (one hour scheduled) on June 4, 11, 18 and 25. Cost is $75. Pom & Cheer Camp

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to offer a summer Pom & Cheer Camp at Mountain Valley Park. The dates for this year’s camp are June 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 20 and 22. Camp instructor Julie Goeringer, certified through the Universal Cheer Association, will lead two different age groups culminating with the cheerleaders participating in the Prescott Valley Parade Days on Saturday, June 23! There will be eight days of camp for ages 3-7 and these campers will meet from 8:00am to Noon. Campers aged 8-14 are also scheduled to meet for eight days from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Cost of Pom & Cheer Camp is $65. (*poms $13) Please meet at the outdoor pavilion each day of camp! Kite Day

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation Department is proud to offer Kite Day at Mountain Valley Park! Join us from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday, May 26. Kite Day is a school’s out bash that will include a kite flying competition, games and a great opportunity to win a prize for flying a kite. The Boys & Girls Club will have a booth promoting their summer programs and Summer Day Camp! Hula Classes

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Hula class at the Bradshaw Mountain High School east campus on Saturday, May 12. This class will incorporate a new and innovative dance that includes music indigenous to Hawaii. Students must sign up independently for each class. Free Hike at Fain Park

Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation invites you to step back in history and join us for a FREE hiking experience in Arizona. The hike is scheduled from 9:00am to 11:00am on June 9, 2007. Hike the historic “Calvary Wash,” and follow the true Calvary Trail to the Indian ruins! Enjoy great views of the Barlow-Massicks Castle as we journey on to explore authentic gold mining artifacts, including an antique stamp mill used to crush stone and find gold. Local hike expert Jerry Munderloh will lead the expedition. Participants must wear hiking shoes, bring water, apply sunscreen, wear a hat and bring a compass. Big Kids Pottery

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks & Recreation Department is offering a “Big Kids” Pottery class. Adults can experience the enjoyment of getting their hands in the clay! This pottery class will include all the basics for a price of $45. Class meets on Thursdays, May 17, 24 and 31 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm in room 331 in the Civic Center. Students will learn the principles of pottery thrown on the wheel, sculpture, glazing and kiln firing techniques. Spanish in the Work Place

Do you often need Spanish terms to speak with employees, customers or the general public? If so, this is the class for you! Students will learn words and phrases often used in a professional setting. The class is scheduled for two consecutive Saturdays, June 2 and June 9. These two classes will meet from 9:00am to 12noon at the Civic Center in room 406. Students will learn conversational phrases and verb usage including participating in written and oral drills and time will be set aside to answer questions at the end of each class. There is a one time fee of $50 for six hours of instruction for the two Saturday classes. Designing Your Own Home

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks & Recreation Department is offering Designing Your Home class instructed by Jennifer Barone. Learn about color schemes and how to choose the right color and shades for your home. The class will be instructed at the Civic Center in Community Room 331 Saturday, June 16 from 12:30-3:30pm at a cost of $45.00. Includes all! No extra costs! The instructor lecture will discuss wall glazing, frottage, Venetian Plaster and decorative painting. Instruction will include the “Tips and Secrets of Designers” and how to avoid the most common mistakes in decorating. Golf Tournament

Prescott Valley, Ariz.—The Town of Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with StoneRidge Golf Course, is offering Junior and Parent Golf Tounament. This program is targeting aspiring golf students who desire to learn the fundamentals from a top quality professional golf coach. Cost is $40 per student for four lessons. Instruction is scheduled for two sessions on Saturdays; June 2, 9, 16, and 23 and July 7, 14, 21, and 28. Class for boys and girls ages 6 to 10 will be from 10:00am to 11:00am and from 11:15am to 12:15pm for boys and girls ages 11 to 17. Sign ups for this program will take place at the Parks and Recreation office. A maximum of 12 students may enroll for this program. Fun Days for the Summer

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation Department is kicking off the summer with the extremely popular “Fabulous Friday Fun Days”. There will be ten fabulous free Friday Fun Days. This program begins June 1 at Mountain Valley Park. Check the “Leisure News” for the location of each “Friday Fun Day” and enjoy a great time at no cost! Antelope Lanes Bowling Camps

Hey Kids! Looking for something to do on Thursday afternoons that’s great fun and doesn’t cost too much? Go to the “Antelope Lanes Bowling Alley” in Prescott Valley for their series of one day Bowling Camps scheduled every Thursday afternoon starting on June 7 until July 26. The instructors and staff at the bowling alley will be ready for you to get your shoes at 3:30pm and the camp sessions are scheduled from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. Cost: $2 per session! Kids between the ages of 6 and 21 will receive FREE shoe rental and will benefit from professional instruction by receiving quality bowling tips from bowling coaches! Aerobics - It’s Not Too Late

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation Department is offering an Aerobics Class instructed by Kim Roberts. The class is called “Triple Threat Aerobics” and will include a warm up, 30 minutes of cardiovascular activities, 25 minutes of toning including special ab exercises. Basic equipment needed for this class is as follows: set of weights, mat (optional), ball and step, (optional). The cost of the program is $56 for 16 classes. Classes begin April 12, 2007 and run through June 5, 2007. This class is scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Bradshaw Mountain High School east campus from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in the band room. Call the instructor at 830-1405. Rubber Stamping

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation Department is offering Rubber Stamping Classes. These will take place 6pm-9pm in Room 222, Saturday, June 16 from 1-4pm in Room 222, Tuesday, July 31 from 1-4pm in Room 331, and Thursday, August 23 from 6-9 pm in Room 331. Basketball Hoops Instruction

The Town of Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation Department announces Summer Basketball Instruction for the player who wants to take their game to the next level! The program is scheduled for Wednesdays at the Granville Elementary School gymnasium! This activity will run from May 30 through August 1. Basketball Coach Roy Jenkins will work with 7-9 year old boys and girls from 12:30pm to1:45pm and 10-14 year olds from 1:45pm to 3:00pm each Wednesday. There will be a basketball camp atmosphere with an emphasis on the fundamentals. No charge for the program! Basketball players are asked to bring their own basketball with their name and phone number on the ball. Scrimmages and games will be factored into the daily schedule.
