Do you have trouble getting to the library to collect the books you have placed on hold? Now you can collect them any day at any time from the automated book lockers at the Prescott Community Center, 1280 Rosser Street. Located at the south side of the parking lot, the book lockers are similar to the clustered mailbox units in use around town.
To use this service, go to the Prescott Public Library web page, www.prescottlibrary.info, to search the library's catalog. After deciding on an item, step through the process of placing the item on hold. (You can also place holds by calling or visiting the Downtown library or the Prescott Gateway Branch library.) Make sure you choose the Prescott Community Center location for delivery when you place your hold. The items are checked out to your library card and delivered to the book lockers at Prescott Community Center. You will be notifed when your item is ready to pick up.
At the book locker, enter your 7 digit telephone number into the keypad followed by the #ENT key. The door, or doors, will automatically open so the items can be collected. Remove your books, close the door, and be on your way. The slip in your books tells you when they are due.
After a few minutes, your library card number is erased from the book locker’s memory and the locker can be used for the next delivery.
Library materials are delivered five days a week, Monday through Friday. A book return is located next to the lockers – drop off and pick up with one quick stop. Questions? Call the library at 928-777-1500.
