A series of classes given by popular local geologist and Yavapai College instructor, Beth Boyd. If you live here and wonder about the amazing geologic landmarks around us, then take these classes. The series begins with the basic concepts of geologic time and plate tectonics and how they apply to the geologic history of Arizona, and later emphasizes the processes which have worked through millennia to create our modern landscape – Granite Mountain, the Granite Dells, Thumb Butte, the Black Hills and Mingus Mountain, and more.
