Prescott National Forest fire officials will start the Strawberry Springs Prescribed Burn near Mingus Mountain on Friday, September 28 through Saturday, September 29, weather conditions permitting. This is an initial entry burn of approximately 500 acres, predominantly Ponderosa pine with chaparral understory.  The location of the burn is approximately 7 miles south of Potato Patch Campground. There will be no road delays or closures, but smoke will be visible to surrounding communities.
