“Four-time Outmusic award nominee Namoli Brennet has been touring the country relentlessly since 2002. She’s covered over 25,000 miles and 43 states over the past 5 years. She has independently recorded, produced and released 6 CDs on her own label, Girl’s Gotta Eat Records. Whether she’s singing about gender, a single mom, politics or the pain of isolation, Brennet’s aching and edgy voice tells each story with a captivating depth. And while she does do that deep, dark moving kind of thing, she’ll also surprise you with between-song antics that rival any stand-up comedian. Her music has been called “transcending folk”, and she puts herself somewhere between Patty Griffin, Margaret Cho and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.”
Namoli Brennet will perform her music at a benefit concert for Q2Youth (QsquaredYouth) on Saturday November 3rd at 7 p.m. at Granite Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation (882 Sunset Avenue). Tickets will go on sale on October 1st for $10. You may purchase tickets at the Catalyst Bookstore & Infoshop located at 109 N. McCormick or by mail.
