Greetings from New Orleans, La., home of all things weird, depraved, righteous, and delicious. This is indeed a city to fall in love with, and despite what you've heard or seen regarding the state of affairs post-Katrina…New Orleans took the floodwaters, seasoned them, added some crawfish, and made them taste good. The folks down here still have a long way to go, but they are going, and that's a good thing. I've been on a five day tour, standing beside one of my best friends as he got married, seeing family, and spending some vacation time with my girlfriend, so I feel pretty good right now, excited to come home, and excited to spend the coming week with you. Thanksgiving is upon us, and we have a lot to be thankful for. Here's what's coming up this week:
Monday: Pizza, Pitcher, and a Picture…Ben's making the Pizza, Brian's pouring the Pitchers, and Ty picked the Picture…Metropolis (1927) by Fritz Lang…It's German, It's Silent, It's One Of The Most Important Films Of All Time…Seriously…It's Amazing. 8:30pm.
Tuesday: Ben and Miguel are putting together a Comfort Food Menu for you. Fall is upon us, the air is crisp, and all you really want is to put on your favorite sweater, come down to the Raven, and reminisce old memories over great food, with good company. Jonathon Best On the Piano…6pm
Thursday: We will be closed for Thanksgiving…Hope You Have A Great Day…We Will.
Friday: What better way to celebrate Black Friday than to do some dancing…Blue Wail…8pm
Saturday: …And as long as you've got your dancing shoes on Friday, leave them on for Jonathon Best and Rhule on Saturday Night…8pm.
Your Album Of The Week: Peggy Honeywell "Faint Humms"…Imagine if Mazzy Star was sitting on the edge of your bed singing you Gillian Welch songs all night…sound good? It is.
Well that's about all I can do for now…got to go catch a flight. See you tomorrow.
Until Again
