Ripple Project Student Showcase, a showcase of Prescott College student projects in the community, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, at the Prescott College Crossroads Center, located off the alley behind the College's main buildings at 220 Grove Ave. The Ripple Showcase is a multi-media event with a student art exhibit, powerful student and community presentations , and a viewing of student-made and directed films. We are also proud to honor World AIDS day by offering free AIDS testing and information. The public is welcome free of charge.
Doors open at 6:30 to for viewing of the student art with live music and light refreshments. Innovative student and community presenters will begin at 7 p.m. on topics ranging from environmental studies to social activism. Student made and directed films will be interspersed throughout the presentations. Throughout the evening local Ripple Project partner organizations and groups will provide information on how to become more involved in your community through volunteer opportunities within their organizations. At 8:30 the Ripple Project will announce the recipients of the Ripple Repeats scholarship award, which provides funding for Prescott College service-learning projects as well as community organizations.
The Ripple Project is the community engagement and service learning center at Prescott College. The Ripple Project matches Prescott College students and other volunteers to non -profit and community service organizations working to achieve social change through service, and promoting experiential learning through civic engagement. The Ripple Project works with students and faculty to integrate local and international community service projects into the curriculum of Prescott College. All proceeds from this event will go to benefit the Ripple Project of Prescott College.
