Step Up For Kids promotes cleanliness, raises money for WEB
Prescott College’s Women’s Empowerment Breakthrough (WEB) is facilitating the Step Up for Kids project to get stepstools in public restrooms and help make the hand washing experience easier for little people and their caregivers. In concert with the Earth Day celebration on April 19th, Step Up for Kids is hosting a kid’s step stool painting party at Granite Creek Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local artist Juanita Hull-Carlson will facilitate the painting party using kid-friendly, non-toxic paints without volatile organic compounds. All are welcome to come help paint free of charge. The stools are being built by Yavapai Exceptional Industries (YEI). Painted stools can be ordered in advance for $50, unpainted stools for $30. WEB’s goal is to place the first 100 stools in area restrooms by the end of June. Proceeds from sale of the stools will go to the WEB Resource Center. Call 350-2018 or more information.
The Women's Empowerment Breakthrough's mission is “to provide a safe and inspiring physical and psychological space to collectively guide and educate women towards creating and living healthy and meaningful lives.” More on Prescott College is at prescott.edu.
