To celebrate the addition of outdoor classes to its schedule, Stroller Strides, a fitness program for new moms, is hosting a re-grand opening event featuring a free sample class as well as discounts on memberships and class passes. The re-grand opening class will be held on May 16th starting at 9:00 am at the  Prescott Valley Civic Center in the grass area.

Stroller Strides is a total fitness program for new moms that they can do with their babies. It includes power walking and intervals of body toning using exercise tubing and the stroller. Taught by nationally certified instructors, it’s a great workout for any level of exerciser. In 60 minutes, you will get a total body workout, improving cardiovascular endurance, strength and your flexibility.  The classes are equally beneficial for babies as instructors will weave songs through the workout and incorporate activities to make it fun.

"Stroller Strides is a great way to get back in shape, as well as stay in shape," said Kammy Amberg, owner of Stroller Strides of Prescott. "We present a fun opportunity for the moms of the Prescott community to turn their strollers into a workout."

Offered since March 1, classes are currently held at the Prescott Gateway Mall 3 mornings per week--but to kick off the summer season, additional classes will be held outside at the Prescott Valley Civic Center starting May 16, 2007.

In addition to the classes, Stroller Strides offers playgroups and mom’s night out, giving women an opportunity to socialize and further relationships.

"We provide the outlet that moms need to enjoy time with other moms, while also focusing on the much needed exercise to fuel their demanding lives," Amberg said. "You can make new friends, get into shape and enjoy time with your baby."

According to Amberg, Stroller Strides allows women to exercise in a social atmosphere and children can benefit from watching their moms participate.
