Earth Notes, KNAU’s weekly environmental series, consists of 90 second segments which encourage listeners to think of themselves as part of the solution to environmental problems.
This week, KNAU begins a five-part series on energy conservation. Yesterday's show focused on ways to cut energy needs that are good for both your pocketbook and the planet.
You can listen to Earth Notes every Wednesday at 6:33 AM, 8:33 AM, & 3:32 PM and Saturday at 9:34 AM on KNAU in Prescott on 89.3 FM. The segments are also archived on the KNAU website, where you can listen online anytime.
Book lovers can also enjoy Earth Notes in print form. Earth Notes partnered with the Grand Canyon Association to publish Earth Notes: Exploring the Southwest’s Canyon Country from the Airwaves. The book features twenty seven essays taken from the popular radio segment on KNAU. Grand Canyon topics covered in the book include California condors, the annual HawkWatch International hawk count, recycling at Phantom Ranch, The Hopi salt mines, quaking aspens, and more.
EarthNotes is produced by KNAU, Arizona Public Radio, and the Center for Sustainable Environments at Northern Arizona University. It’s funded in part by the City of Flagstaff’s Conservation Programs, Arizona Raft Adventures, Flagstaff Honda, and Southwest Wind Power.
