New Prescott Valley Public Library hours

New Prescott Valley Public Library HoursThe Prescott Valley Public Library hours will change effective Monday, November 17, 2008.

The new hours of operation will be:

  • 9:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. - Monday through Thursday
  • 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. - Friday
  • 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. - Saturday

The average hourly attendance count reveals that patrons visit the library much more often in the morning hours and visits dramatically decline after 8:00pm, demonstrating a need to open earlier. The number of open hours will remain the same as the library opens one hour earlier and closes one hour earlier with the new schedule.

As the library begins preparations to move into the new facility in the summer of 2009, it will rely more and more upon volunteers to assist the professional library staff. It is hoped that with the change in hours, the Town will be able to recruit more volunteers to assist in the evening hours. The Town has a goal of recruiting 50 new volunteers to assist in the operations of the new state of the art library.

For more information about volunteering at the library contact Councilmember Lora Lee Nye at 759-0272 or Stuart Mattson at 759-3041. For other questions about the library, please call the Prescott Valley Public Library at 759-3040.
